Astanga Maria "Deva" Radloff
For those of you looking for astanga -- we have it at CCY once again! for November we will host Maria once a week, but look for a more regular schedule starting in January!Maria will be holding ashtanga yoga practices at Centered City Yoga on in Salt Lake on Tuesday mornings from 8-9:30am when she is in town. Donation-only classes, pay what you can afford.Ashtanga yoga is an asana practice based on breath, energy locks and eye gazing. We'll begin each practice with the traditional chant, and we'll be working on the Primary Series sequence. I will also be using a lot of Sanskrit in class, so you'll really get to experience a traditional practice. This practice is open to anybody at any level, although if you are brand new to yoga in general, please contact me about doing a basics class so you learn a few of the basic postures. I'll help you choose some classes at Centered City Yoga or whichever studio that you choose, so that can help you begin your journey, with this group in mind! I am also able to give Deeksha (Oneness Blessing). If you would ever like a deeksha at the end of class, please let me know...I would love to share the energy! It would be given right before a shavasana so that you can integrate.

Update from Kate Our own Kate Linsley

Dearest friends and family-
"Words cannot in anyway describe the feelings I am blessed with right now. I have never felt this kind of love and community in one space in my life. Many have commented that I would have never felt something like that in my life, had I not had this accident. I believe it. We rally like champions in times of need. What if we lived that love....daily? For no reason in particular. Is that even possible? We get so caught up in the mundane that it may be. In the idea that I could not ever thank people enough for the kindness and love I have been receiving, I am going to try to live that love. That is the best "thank-you" I can give."
Those are words I shared to the CCY community after the benefit they had for me.
I knew that there was an extreme amount of energy and prayers being sent my way, but I had no idea of the effect it would take. I had an appointment with my doctor yesterday and he said I was healing at an amazing rate. He offered to do the final surgery ahead of schedule- by almost a month-!!! I am scheduled to have the surgery. He will move the graft to shape the left nostril tip and use my own skin to continue to reshape the nose and get the full feeling back in the tip of my nose. There will be more moments of full head wraps and bandages galore...but, hey, we have been there, done that. I may be out of commission for a bit, but I will keep everyone posted.
I wanted to share my progress with you because I feel your prayers and energy have changed the course of my healing for the better. I want to thank you all for that so very much. Not only am I healing inside and out, but I am blessed to be aware of the kindness and beauty that surrounds me in my Friends, family and community. I feel so blessed to have this brought into my life, even at the expense of this trauma.
Please continue to send the positive energy and prayers for this last go-round.
LOVE AND LIGHT!!!!!
